Yes! The Hiddenbed® patented balancing mechanism makes for a light and smooth movement from bed to desk. All models are supplied with Hiddenbed® (pat.pend.) balancing system.
 How do I transform my Hiddenbed® ?
There are many ways to transform it; here we explain an elegant and relaxed way. The system must be well balanced to achieve this.
To move the system down, unlock, push the desk down with your hand using the weight of your body and hold the bed beam when it comes out of the cabinet. No need to lean down too much! To transform the bed to desk, raise the bed beam, and before it gets into the cabinet, put your other hand on the desk while releasing the bed beam. It's much easier to do than to explain! Consider that if the desk is heavily loaded, the system will tend to go down easily, so there might be no need to push down on the desk. Is Hiddenbed® affordable?
Apart from being the most functional and practical transformable furniture, the simplicity of Hiddenbed® makes it more affordable than older wall beds, futons etc. You can compare its price to theadded price of a bed, a desk and/or a cabinet and you'll find Hiddenbed® a very effective and affordable solution for your room. What about the room area that you now use? And you have really two different rooms: A bedroom, and a stylish workplace. No bed!
Why is Hiddenbed® different?
Hiddenbed® is the ultimate transformable furniture. With Hiddenbed® you transform your space in a 1:1 ratio. What does it mean? That both functions use the same floor area. With an old Murphybed you have to clear the room where the bed will be deployed. With a futon, you have the same problem.
Hiddenbed® has yet another radical difference. You don't have to clear the desk transform it. Just think of how important this simple fact is. Think again! With a Murphy bed, you don't even have a desk to clear. You have the room to clear... With a futon, the same. Even the newest Murphy beds have a desk that has to be cleared to deploy the bed. With Hiddenbed® your don't have to make the bed. With a futon you have to completely remove all bedding, probably the cushions too. And it's not the same to sleep on a row of cushions than sleeping on a real mattress, as with Hiddenbed®. Why choose Hiddenbed® and not illegal copies?
Apart from infringing law, we have the most up to date ways of making Hiddenbed® to suit your needs. Because illegal copies are usually localized and small scale, they will never offer a wide range of products, as we do. If you know about illegal copies, please let us know and enjoy our reward programme. TheHiddenbed® patent covers many variations of the same concept, so it's easy to recognize an illegal 'hiddenbed' if it moves in the same way.
What materials is Hiddenbedsmanufactured with?
We currently manufacture in solid wood, veneered panels, MFC, painted metal and PFC (paper faced chipboard).
Who will assemble Hiddenbed® for me?
Hiddenbed is an RTA (ready to assemble) furniture. If you assemble it at home, we recommend that two people assemble it, though one can assemble it by himself. Some retailers offer Hiddenbed® already assembled, and yet others will provide trained staff that will do the job for you.
Do I need any special tool to assemble Hiddenbed®?
In the case of RTA furniture we supply all the tools and simple assembly instructions in everyHiddenbed® package. However you may prefer to use devices such as electrical screwdrivers.
 Will things fall from the desk when moving from bed to desk?
No. The Hiddenbed® desk remains perfectly horizontal in all its movement. You can leave a full cup of coffee on the desktop throughout the transformation and it won't spill a drop out!
Does the mattress hold its place when the bed is stowed away?
Yes. The mattress remains in its place. There's no need to care about the pillow either. It will also remain in its place. The mattress stays fixed when stowed. And there's no need to make the bed!
 How long does it take to assemble Hiddenbed®?
Assembly at home will take you about 70 minutes. However, a trained person can assemble it in 30 minutes.
Is Hiddenbed® self-standing?
Yes. Hiddenbed is a self-standing furniture. However in some cases, people prefer to attach it to the wall (like a cabinet) to avoid it being toppled by children.
Does the desk hold in the upper position when loaded?
Yes. There is a Hiddenbed® locking system which is easy to use, keeps the desk fixed, locked, and able to have over 20kg of load. It consists of two locks which must be locked when using the desk.
In bed position, the bed stays down by itself, except for some models that require locks there too. Can I install electrical devices on the desk?
Yes, some models of Hiddenbed® are even supplied with an electrical installation. As with any electrical installation you should take the elementary safety precautions, and ask for advise if in doubt.
 Is Hiddenbed® easy to move from bed to desk and back?

Can I make Hiddenbed® at home by myself?
Although it can be a lot of fun, it is a difficult piece of furniture to build, so we advise you not to try it, unless you really want to test yourself! Besides, Hiddenbed® is patented and you should ask the patent owners for permission to manufacture any quantity.
Is Hiddenbed® safe?
Yes! The movement is so smooth and slow that it feels very safe. In the packing of Hiddenbed® you will find a manual for correct assembly. Follow the instructions (or let the installer do it) and the result will be a perfectly safe piece of furniture! Just like any other moving thing, like a sliding door, it has to be assembled correctly. You can send us an email forhelp if you have any question.
Is Hiddenbed® suitable for larger rooms?
Yes! Hiddenbed® actually makes the bed disappear during the day and have a HUGE desk to work, study or play! So you can actually turn an average room into a big room if you let the bed be hidden during the day. Hiddenbed® lets you make a better use of thesame room area.
 Is Hiddenbed® suitable for other applications?
Yes! In a few months, Hiddenbed® will be available in cruiser ships and RV's (recreational vehicles). However, any place where you might need to sleep and work or play, is a potential place for Hiddenbed®.
Do children like Hiddenbed®?
They love it! In fact children see Hiddenbed® as a toy. With the supervision of adults, even a child is strong enough to change the bed to desk. And the movement is fun for them! They want to sleep on a toy, and they see Hiddenbed® as one!

Is it possible to have a computer on the Hiddenbed® desk?
